Service Trip

Yes, That is our site as viewed from the West Side of Mount Franklin.

Below is where we parked the vehicle this morning to begin our hike up to the site.  This picture was taken from just about where the base station for the TRAM is located.  We utilize the TRAM when we are dealing with large amounts of equipment, either up or down.  However, it cost's us $150.00 to use this TRAM so we try to limit our utilization of it.

We're hiking up the ridge line and have just passed the TRAM Base Station in this shot, looking more or less South.  They park the gondola up away from the base station in an attempt to prevent vandalism.

Further up the ridge line looking towards our destination. You can see we are getting further north on the mountain ... and can see the TRAM uprights to our south on the other ridge line.

See no trails to speak of, when we gain access this way.

A view to the West on our way up.

And Another, Kinda North West.

And we've reached the top ridge line now further north of our site .... now walk this ridge line back south to the site.

Ah, we're reached our Radio Room .... Time to rake a short break

Our Remote Base with the front panel removed and you'll also notice the ICOM2-Meter IC-22U Remote is not in the rack in it's slot.

The following are some tower shots next to our radio room at this site.  Looking up out our radio room door.

On the platform looking South.

On the platform Looking North West.

On the platform looking South West.

On the platform looking up.

On the platform looking almost due South.

Looking up once again from a different side of the platform.

Looking down from the platform.

Our Radio room is on the far right of this shot.  If you look close you'll see the door is open.

In the upper right of this shot if you look just to the left of the orange flag you'll see the end of the line for the TRAM.

Our Voice Synthesizer card, that we're STILL looking for a way to upgrade, and reprogram!!

Ah, on the way back down .... It's been a LONG Day .....

Ah, Approaching the TRAM Base Station ... Notice the late afternoon Sun Angle.

Almost down ...... However, for what ever reason I didn't get off the mountain until AFTER Dark ... Thank Goodness for the assistance of Mike KD9KC this day !!!!!  I would NOT have wanted to tackle this chore by myself !!!
